Class, Style, And Oh That Smile!

Class, Style, And Oh That Smile!

Saying Goodbye to The Elegance of Mary Tyler Moore

Today our world lost the presence of the woman who could turn the world on with her smile. Mary Tyler Moore was the essence of class, style, and moxie! And that wasn’t just the role she played but she was a humble and loving person, an advocate for Juvenile Diabetes, and fighter for animal rights. Oh, and of course she was to millions of us a true role model.

It is so easy for young ladies to tune into social media or television and see examples of some women who’s characters ooze of vulgarity and self-centeredness. What an inspiration it is to remember and pay tribute to a role model like Mary.  She showed charm, wit, brains, and class and helped mold so many of us into the women we are today.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show debuted the year I was born, 1970.  This show was destined to leave an impact on me. At only six, I can remember tuning into that smile. Of course, I continued watching the show until it ended in 1977 and watched re-runs whenever I had the chance. I was like a little sponge, taking in her tenacious but sweet and flirtatious character and I wanted nothing more than to be her! She showed us, that it was OK to want and do what our male counterparts had for decades… she taught us that a woman could be classy, smart, bold… and yes sexy!

Mary Tyler Moore, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for setting such a beautiful example for this little girl. Your departure truly saddens me but I am happy that you are at rest with your son. Your legacy will last for generations to come and your spirit and beautiful smile will live on for eternity.

With Love,

Sonny Curtis Love Is All Around Me Lyrics

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it’s you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement, you show it
