Nutritious Detox to Retox Water
Another great weekend down in the memory books! Some of the memories we could do without might be that extra glass of champagne or delicious dessert. Or for the more refined palate, Girl Scout cookies, and vino! Whatever your vice, Monday is a great day for a little Detox to Retox Session!
A refreshing option is a healthy dose of hydration throughout the day with some nutritious Detox Water!
My favorite, is a pitcher filled with water, crushed ice, lime, and cucumber! Limes are a great source of antioxidants, magnesium, and potassium. And according to Healthline, Drinking lime water not only can hydrate and rejuvenate your skin, but it also improves digestion. Limes are acidic, and they help saliva break down food for better digestion.
The Huffington Post boasts about the benefits of Cucumbers recognizing them for their vitamin C and caffeic acid. These are two antioxidant nutrients that can help protect the skin from sun damage. Cucumbers also have natural anti-inflammatory properties and help to prevent water retention. Cucumbers also contain silica, an essential component of healthy connective tissue.
So time to fill up that pitcher and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
