Making a Beautiful Difference Where it Counts
Have you ever had a moment when you felt so unbelievably inspired that you could actually feel your soul light up? Well, today that was this girl! I had the privilege of visiting with some individuals whose passion and belief help to keep fueling the engine of one the most remarkable organizations I have ever seen, Girls Inc.
It’s no wonder it is easy to get inspired by a team who’s sole mission is to inspire girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold! And their vision is for all girls to grow up to feel valued, safe, and prepared to achieve their dreams of college, career, and leadership. They connect girls from underserved neighborhoods with access to the resources and opportunities they need to navigate gender, economic, and racial barriers, and realize their potential.
It is Easy to Get Involved
Girls Inc., previously Girls Clubs of America was first founded in 1945 with 19 Charter Clubs. But their first Girls Club actually opened in 1864 in Connecticut. Now this organization can be found in areas throughout The United States and Canada serving over 140,000 budding Strong, Smart, and Bold young ladies annually.
I am thrilled to have discovered their Alameda County Chapter and am looking forward to doing all I can to keep their beautiful mission going strong! In a world where it is easy to feel helpless, Girls Inc. is a real reminder that we all have an opportunity to make an impact in so many ways.
If you want to feel true inspiration, this is the perfect avenue for you, I have always found that when you give inspiration and hope to others, you are blessed with double in return. Anne Frank said it best, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. ”
