Sleeping Beauty

The Free Beauty Treatment!

While you might love that occasional splurge on the latest and greatest beauty mask, don’t overlook the free beauty boost that is waiting for you at home, sleep!

I know, life gets crazy and this little beauty hack, we call sleep, sometimes feels as far away as that dream you had the other night of relaxing on the beaches of Fiji!

Rest assured, with a couple of tweaks to your schedule, you can count more than a few extra zzz, you can wake up feeling more refreshed and ravishing!

1. Keep happy hour happy

Nothing beats a social toast with your tribe, but make sure to protect yourself from the lovely drying effects of alcohol by substituting soda water for sugary juices or drinks that can leave your skin feeling like it’s stranded on a desert island.
2. Just say NO to being thirsty

Keeping your body beautifully hydrated just makes sense. According to Backtobed.com “Water makes up about 60% of your body, 75% in your muscles, and 85% in your brain. Water is essential for almost all of your bodily functions, especially brain function. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that being dehydrated may disrupt healthy brain function while sleeping.”

3. Wash before rest

I know you are tired, it’s been a long day but NEVER let yourself go to sleep without removing your makeup! Your skin needs to breathe while it rejuvenates overnight. Give it the freedom to do so in a clean, fresh environment!

4. Boost your skin’s performance

A solid skincare routine before getting some shut eye will increase your skin’s natural performance while you rest. There are many excellent products out there that can help repair the damage of the day, keeping your skin extra hydrated through the night.

5. Give your phone a timeout

I know, it is so easy to use your phone as an alarm clock right? But it robs you of relaxation and deep sleep. Notifications, alerts, and all that jazz are just a distraction from our primary goal. No social media is worth trading in your fresh morning face!

6. Get greedy when it comes to your rest

Take it from The National Sleep Foundation; adults require 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Get accustomed to a sleep schedule, and your body will thank you!

Cheers and Happy Dreaming,
